Snart påskeferie!

Det går ikke så fort med produksjonen her for tiden, siden jeg er nyoperert, men når jeg får gjort noe så er det stort sett påske eller konfirmasjon som står på planen. I dag ble det et påskekort for scrapping.no.
*Production is slow these days since I'm fresh out of surgery, but when I get something done it's usually something easter or confirmation. Today it's an easter card for scrapping.no.*

Jeg har brukt herlige ark fra Maja Design Vintage Spring Basics kolleksjonen. Alle kanter er svertet og rufset. Den søte trepynten er fra herlige Wycinanka. Kakeservietten og perlene er fra Papirdesign. Jeg har brukt tags, fjær, blonder og seambinding fra lageret mitt. Den gule liljen er jeg ikke sikker på hvor den kommer fra, men rosene er alle fra WOC og i utgangspunktet var alle kremfarget. Noen av rosene fikk en liten dusj med Glimmer Mist Sun Sisters for å matche resten. Til slutt stemplet jeg et diskret påskestempel fra gamle Papirloftet rett på mønsterarket med Fluid Chalk Creamy Brown.

*I've used yummy papers from Maja Design Vintage Spring Basics Collection. All edges are distressed. The cute wood veneer is from fabulous Wycinanka. The doily and pearls are from Papirdesign. I've used tags, feather, lace and seambinding from my stash. I'm not sure where the yellow lily is from but the roses are all from WOC and were initially ivory colored. Some of them got a spritz of Glimmer Mist Sun Sisters to match the rest. Finally I stamped a discreet easter sentiment stamp from old Papirloftet directly on the patterned paper in Fluid Chalk Creamy Brown.*

Lovely Sunday

Uka forsvant rimelig fort for meg og som for de fleste andre nordmenn passerte valentinsdagen som en helt vanlig dag for meg og min kjære, men jeg er fortsatt i det romantiske hjørnet.
*The week disappeared quickly for me and as for most Norwegians Valentine's passed as any other day for me and my darling, but I'm still in the romantic corner.*

Jeg kunne ikke motstå fristelsen til å legge litt farge på denne søte amorinen som er et digistempel fra Phindy's Place og heter Cupid Cutie. Fargeleggingen er selvfølgelig gjort med mine trofaste Pro- og FlexMarkers. Rundt kanten har jeg stemplet hjerter fra Papertrey Ink med Memento Rhubarb Stalk, både første, andre og tredje generasjonsstempling. Teksten er fra et Bentley Bear stempelsett som fulgte med et blad jeg kjøpte en gang for lenge siden.
*I couldn't resist the temptation of coloring up this adorable cupid which is a digi from Phindy's Place called Cupid Cutie. The coloring of course done with my trusted Pro- and FlexMarkers. Around the edge I've stamped hearts from Papertrey Ink in Memento Rhubarb Stalk, first, second and third generation stamping. The sentiment is from a Bentley Bear stamp set that came with a magazine I bought a long time ago.*

Kortet er ganske enkelt med papirer fra Kaisercraft English Rose-kolleksjonen. På panelet i midten har jeg brukt en kantpunch fra EK Success. Kantene er svertet med Fluid Chalk Creamy Brown. Ellers har jeg bare pyntet med noen roser fra Wild Orchid Crafts og en løs tag bak motivet, utstanset med en Magnolia die og dekorert med en sløyfe i Cameo Beige seambinding fra Wild Orchid Crafts. Enkelt og greit og nå fortsetter min kreative, deilige søndag. :)
*The card is fairly simple with papers from the Kaisercraft English Rose collection. On the mid panel I've used an edge punch from EK Success. The edges are inked with Fluid Chalk Creamy Brown. Other than that I've only decorated with a few roses from Wild Orchid Crafts and a removable tag behind the image, die cut with a Magnolia die and decorated with a bow in Cameo Beige seambinding from Wild Orchid Crafts. Nice and easy and now I'll continue my creative lovely Sunday. :) *

CAS guttekort

CAS-mojo'en min har vært borte lenge og dypt savnet, men når datteren annonserte at over halve klassen har bursdag på denne siden av sommeren, fant jeg ut at det var på tide å fylle opp lageret med noen enkle guttekort.

*My CAS mojo has been missing for a long time and deeply missed, but when my daughter announced that more than half her class are born on this side of the summer I thought it was about time to fill the stash with some simple boy cards.*

Jeg har brukt vanlig hvit hobbykartong som base og resteark fra et stadig voksende lager. Chipboard stjernen er malt med gesso og hvit akrylmaling, svertet med Hero Arts Shadow Ink Soft Stone og til slutt fargelagt med ProMarker Rock Pool langs kanten. Tekststempelet er fra Kort og Godt, stemplet med Versafine Onyx Black.

*I've used regular white cardstock as a base and scrap paper from an increasing stash. The chipboard star is painted with gesso an white acrylic paint, inked with Hero Arts Shadow Ink Soft Stone and finally colored with ProMarker Rock pool along the edge. The sentiment is from Kort og Godt stamped with Versafine Onyx Black.*

DT ProMarker Norge

Endelig er den her! Den siste måneden i året, julemåneden! Det kan vel være at jula er mest for barna, men jeg har gledet meg til 1. desember leeeenge og jeg gleder meg som en unge til selveste julaften! I år har jeg jo også fått brukt masse tid på julescrappeprosjekter allerede og jeg er langt fra ferdig enda. Og jeg koser meg virkelig med julemusikk på høyttalerne og julepapirer mellom fingrene.

Og nå er det på tide med en ny utfordring hos ProMarker Norge. Du kan jo gjette hva det er, men for å være sikker må du kikke inn i bloggen. ;-)

*It's finally here! The last month of the year, the christmas month! The christmas might be mostly for the kids, but I've been looking forward to December for a looooong time and I'm anticipating christmas eve just as much as a kid! This year I've got to spend a lot of time on christmas crafting already and I'm far from finished yet. And I'm enjoying myself so much with christmas music on the speakers and christmas papers in my hands.

På dette kortet har jeg brukt ark fra Kaisercraft og ett av de nye bittesmå teksstemplene fra Norsk Stempelblad. Jeg var litt usikker på om jeg ville like dem når jeg først så dem, men jeg tror de vil bli godt brukt her etterhvert.

DT ProMarker Norge #23

Høsten er her og det merkes godt her jeg bor. Lufta er skarpere og trærne snart nakne, men det betyr bare mer tid på lekerommet og det trengs! Høsten er også et rush av bursdager i min omgangskrets og så kommer jula med alle sine prosjekter, så her er det bare å henge i!
*Fall is here and it's quite noticable where I live. The air is crisp and the trees almost bare, but that only means more time in the playroom and I need it! The fall is also a rush of birthdays around me and then comes christmas with all it's projects, so I just have to keep up!*

Her har jeg fargelagt Abby Celebrating fra Mo Manning (farger under) og satt det sammen med noen av mine svenske favoritter fra Magnolia og Maja Design. Alle panelene er svertet med Fluid Chalk Creamy Brown og sydd med maskinsøm. Her er faktisk flere svenske favoritter, for billettstempelet og die'en er fra svenske Rox Stamps. Under motivet har jeg brukt en vanlig shippingtag med Seambinding fra Wild Orchid Crafts, Divine Twine og en knapp fra May Arts. Knappen oppe til høyre er fra Wild Orchid Crafts og det gule båndet er fra American Crafts.

Et dåpskort

For en stund siden laget jeg et kort til et par tvillinggutter, i dag skal guttene døpes og måtte få et kort på dagen. Det var ikke så enkelt å komme på ideer til dette kortet. Med fire gutter under fire år har denne familien allerede fått hauger av kort fra meg, dermed følte jeg at jeg hadde brukt mesteparten av reportoaret mitt. Det har naturlig nok blitt mye blått, så derfor fant jeg ut at grønt kunne passe like godt til guttene.
*A while ago I made a card for twin boys, today the boys are christened and had to get a card on their day. It wasn't that easy to come up with ideas for this card. With four boys under four years this family has already got heaps of cards from me, so I felt that I had spent most of my repertoire. Naturally it's been a lot of blues, so I thought that green would be just as fitting for the boys.*

Jeg klarte ikke å holde meg unna Maja-arkene denne gangen heller. Disse er fra Vintage Spring og Vintage Summer Basics kolleksjonene. Alle kanter er svertet med Fluid Chalk Creamy Brown og ytterkanten er svertet med Distress Ink Walnut Stain i tillegg. Ytterkantene er også stemplet med et splash stempel fra The Greeting Farm og sydd med maskinsøm. Bannerne er stanset ut med en die fra Papertrey Ink og sydd med sikksakk maskinsøm. Stempelet er fra Norsk Stempelblad, stemplet med Memento Rich Cocoa på kraft kartong. Seambindingen og blomstene er fra Wild Orchid Crafts og har fått et snev av sverte på seg. I sløyfa har jeg festet en knapp fra svigermors lager med hyssing fra Waltzingmouse Stamps og to hjertecharms fra lageret mitt. I blomsteroppsatsen har jeg også brukt pyntebær fra Kort og Godt. Bladene er stanset ut med EK Rock Fern punch i et av Maja arkene. Til lykke med dåpsdagen!
*I couldn't stay away from the Maja papers this time either. These are from the Vintage Spring and Vintage Summer collections. All edges are inked with Fluid Chalk Creamy Brown and the outer edge is also inked with Distress Ink Walnut Stain. The outer edges are also stamped with a splash stamp from The Greeting Farm and sewn with machine. The banners are die cut with a die from Papertrey Ink and sewn with zig zag machine seam. The sentiment stamp is from Norsk Stempelblad, stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa on kraft cardstock. The seambinding and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and has got a touch of ink on them. In the bow I attached a button from my mother-in-law's stash with twine from Waltzingmouse Stamps and two heart charms from my own stash. In the flower arrangement I've also used berry stamens from Kort og Godt. The leaves are punched out with EK Rock Fern punch from one of the Maja papers. Happy christening day!*

Finally I’m back online! Got a bit of Internet issues here, but it’s all sorted out now, I hope!

The days have just vanished as I’ve been busy prepping the family for school and everyday life after a summer that seemed to last forever. And now it’s Thursday again. Not just any ol’ Thursday, it’s my oldest daughters first day of 5^th grade in a new school, so it’s been really exciting both for her and me. Mostly me, I think. *S*

Now for the challenge, and I have to say that I’m really looking forward to this, as we’re doing more than one fold this week. It’s been far too long since I’ve done anything but a regular card, so I set out to find something new and exciting for me. 

Marianne has some awesome creations on her blog, so I really just had to take a pick and landed on this fabulous gatefold-with-a-twist kinda creation.

 

The large tag with the image on keeps the card closed. Unfortunately she didn’t have any tutorial or links to templates, so I had to think twice before I understood how it was done. But it really wasn’t that hard. It’s made out from a 12x12” cardstock, scored at 3” on all sides. Get it? Let me know if you would like to see a tutorial on this, and I’ll see what I can do. ;-)

 

I really liked the look on this folded card, and I loved it even more when I got to combine it with some of my favorites at the moment, Maja Design papers and Saturated Canary digi stamps. The gorgeous paper are from the “Ska vi ta en Fika”collection. I'm purple passionate and I just love the colours on these papers, totally yummy! The Fika-collection is by no means new, but for some reason I never got around to buying them. But now, with my Maja-madness and purple passion I just had to have them and they came just last week. (And I do believe I need another refill pretty soon! *S*)

 

 

And the sweet Canary is called “Thank You”. Thanks to Krista for supplying the DT with these cuties! As always colored in with my ProMarkers.  Unfortunately I forgot to write down the colours this time. I think I used pretty much every purple/violet colour I own. *S* I’ve also used an edge stamp on this one. I’m not sure where it’s from.

Other materials I’ve used are: Flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and Kort og Godt, PaP-punches from Martha Stewart, ribbon and pearl from my stash, Distress Ink Walnut Stain and Fluid Chalk Creamy Brown.

DT Charisma - Make your own embellishments

Wanna have a go at one of these prizes? All you have to do is get creative with embellishments. That is making your own. Here's my take on the task:

I made the flowers myself with some (light weight) watercolor paper, a heart punch, Distress Ink (Tumbled Glass) a brad and some water. I simply inked the hearts, punched a little hole in the bottom of the hearts to attach the brad, then fanned them out and gave them a good spritz of water before I scrunched them up, folded them back out and let them dry. Really easy. :)

I used a kraft card base, tied on some Divine Twine (Aqua) that I got from lovely Elin and added a button from my stash. A simple scalloped circle from watercolor paper, inked with Distress Ink (Tumbled Glass) and a lovely sentiment from Norsk Stempelblad, stamped in Archival Ink (Coffee) that reads: "Life doesn't have to be perfect to be fantastic"! Finally I topped it all with a bunch of pearls from Storyteller and Scrapbook Memories (Panduro), I believe. And that's it for today.

I haven't used many stamps at all, digis or other. Just the pennant stamp from Panduro. I filled it in with my son's name. My little man turned four a couple of days ago and this was the card he got.

The papers are really old ones from Melissa Frances that I've teamed up with white and kraft Bazzill cardstock. The edges are slightly inked with Distress Ink Walnut Stain and I added some faux stitching with a Zig marker. I painted the chipboard number with gesso and acrylic paint and overheated it on pupose, to get a little more texture to it. I also inked it a little bit with Walnut Stain.

Mojo Monday

I was actually on my way to bed when I realized I almost missed the deadline on the Mojo Monday contest, and I love Mojo Monday sketches and Verve Stamps, so I couldn't let that happen. I got upstairs and whipped up this card real quick.

 

I grabbed the first piece of leftover paper that was on my desk, and that was the dark turquoise one from Kaisercraft Utopia Collection. Got a couple of other pieces from the same paper pad, stamped up and die cut the most wonderful sentiment I know of (from Verve of course) and inked the edges slightly with Distress Ink Dusty Concord. Since there are tons of challenges related to love, hearts and/or Valentine's around these days, I thought I'd catch a few of them too, so I punched out two little purple hearts that are peeking out from underneath the bow. And there you have it, a card for a loved one.

Joy fold card for my sister

Nå er det tilbake til hverdagen etter nesten en uke på tur. Min lillesøster hadde 30 års dag i forrige uke, så jeg dro for å feire litt med henne. Seks deilige dager med kos og latter og mange overraskelser. Det vil si, hun var ikke så lett å overraske, må nok jobbe med dekkhistoriene mine til neste gang! *lol* Kortet var vel det eneste hun ble overrasket over!
*Back to everyday life after almost a week on the road. My little sister had her 30th birthday last week, so I went to celebrate a little with her. Six wonderful days with joy and laughter and lots of surprises. Jeg laget et joy fold kort med ark fra Pion Design. Teksten er fra Kort og Godt, stanset ut med Spellbinders Labels sixteen. Resin pynten oppe til høyre er fra Melissa Frances. *I made a joy fold card with papers from Pion Design. The sentiment is from Kort og Godt die cut with Spellbinders Labels sixteen. Bretten er dekorert med Seambinding og blomster fra Wild Orchid Crafts, twine fra Waltzingmouse Stamps og en hjerte charm fra lageret mitt. En resin fugl fra Prima hjelper til å holde nede bretten. På kanten har jeg brukt en MS kant punch. *The fold is decorated with seam binding ribbon and flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, twine from Waltzingmouse Stamps and a heart charm from my stash. A resin bird from Prima helps to keep the fold down.*

Slik ser det ut når kortet er helt brettet ut. I ettertid skulle jeg ønske jeg hadde laget kortet i midten litt større, så det ble bedre plass til å skrive på. Må huske på det til neste gang. *This is what it looks like all folded out. In retrospect I wish I had made the center card a bit bigger to make more room for writing. Gotta remember it till next time.*

 Alt i alt syns jeg det ble nokså bra til å være første forsøk på et slikt kort, og med tanke på at det ble satt sammen på tre timer midt på natta før jeg skulle reise. Min søster ble i alle fall glad for det og det er jo det viktigste! Gratulerer med dagen, lillesøs! *All in all I thought it was pretty good for a first try on this kinda card and given it was put together in three hours in the middle of the night before I left. At least my sister was happy about it and that's the most important thing! Happy birthday, babysis!*

Z-fold birthday card

De siste ukene har vært nærmest surrealistisk, med alt som har skjedd og ferietid, men i dag er det tilbake til hverdagen, heldigvis bare for to uker før den "ordentlige" ferien tar til.*These past few weeks have been almost surreal with all that has happened and vacation time, but today it's back to "the salt mines", fortunately only for two weeks before the "real" vacation begins.*

Her kommer i alle fall et kort jeg måtte snekre sammen for min datter som skulle i venninnebursdag. Jeg hadde lovet henne å lage et ekstra fint kort, siden hun kanskje ble nødt til å gi penger i gave (hun foretrekker å gi gaver. :)) Etter min standard, ble ikke dette akkurat "ekstra fint", men både datter'n og venninna var fornøyde, så da er oppdraget fullført. :) *Anyways, here's a card I had to put together for my daughter who was going to a friend's birthday party. I promised her I would make an extra pretty card, since she might have to give money as a gift (she prefers actual gifts. :)) By my standards this isn't excactely "extra pretty", but both my daughter and her friend was happy so mission accomplished. :)

Det ble et Z-fold kort med digistempel fra Saturated Canary (Ellie's birthday), fargelagt med ProMarkers. Arkene er faktisk juleark fra BoBunny(!!). Enkelt dekorert med blomster fra Prima og halvperler. *I made a z-fold card with a digi stamp from Saturated Canary (Ellie's birthday), colored with ProMarkers. The papers are actually christmas papers from BoBunny(!!). Simple decor with flowers from Prima and adhesive pearls.*

Bannerne er klippet ut for hånd. (Dies står høyt oppe på ønskelista mi nå!) Bokstavene er foam stickers som jeg har sprayet med lilla Glimmermist. *The banners are cut by hand. (Dies are high on my wishlist now!) The letters are foam stickers that I sprayed with purple Glimmermist.*

Enkel innside med skrivefelt i samme stil som forsiden. Tiden strakk rett og slett ikke til for å finne på noe mer kreativt. *Simple inside with place for writing in the same style as the front. There just wasn't enough time to think of something more creative.*

My favourite things

Utfordringen hos Totally PaperCrafts denne gangen er inspirert av sangen fra The Sound of Music, og dette kortet har noen av mine favoritt "ting". *The current challenge at Totally PaperCrafts is inspired by the song from The Sound of Music, and this card has a few of my favorite "things".*

Fargekombinasjonen blått og brunt er en av mine favoritter. Jeg har også brukt min favoritt teknikk, emboss resist, med min absolutte favoritt Distress farge, Stormy Sky. "Krøllet" bånd er også en favoritt hos meg. *The color combo blue and brown are one of my favorites. I've also used my favorite technique emboss resist, with my absolute favorite Distress color, Stormy Sky. Scrunched ribbon is also a favorite of mine.*

Med så mange favoritter på ett kort, skulle man tro at hele kortet ble en favoritt. Tja, jeg liker det, men det ble liksom ikke riktig til den anledningen det var tiltenkt. Jeg finner nok likevel på en eller annen anledning for det. :) *You'd think the entire card was a favorite with so many favorite things in one card. Well, I like it, but it just wasn't right for  the occasion I wanted it for. I'll find an occasion for it anyways, I guess. :)*

Vel overstått morsdag

Morsdagen kom og gikk uten at jeg fikk gjort så mye med det. Familien min ga meg en fin dag med gave og hjemmelaget kort. Men min egen mor ble sørgelig forsømt, all den tid jeg har vært (og til dels fortsatt er) lite mobil. Men i dag har jeg brukt mye tid på lekerommet, så da ble det også et lite morsdagskort. *Mother's day came and went and I couldn't do much about it. My family gave me a nice day with a present and homemade card, but my own mother was sadly neglected since I have been (and still am, to some degree) rather immobile. But today I've spent a lot of time in the playroom, so a little mother's day card came out of it.*

Bakgrunnen er preget med en splitter ny Tim Holtz embossing folder og svertet med Distress Ink for å fremheve mønsteret. Panelet på tvers var i utgangspunktet helt hvitt. Jeg farget det med en blanding av Distress Ink og Glimmermist, deretter stemplet ulike snøfnugg som igjen ble clear embosset. *The background is embossed with a brand new Tim Holtz embossing folder and inked with Distress Ink to enhance the pattern. The panel across was originally all white. I colored it with a mix of Distress Ink and Glimmermist, then I stamped different snowflakes that I then clear embossed.*

Tagen var også en helt ordinær, hvit manila tag, som jeg svertet over det hele med Distress Ink før jeg sprutet noen dråper vann over. En morsomt triks jeg plukket opp fra kongen selv (Tim Holtz, altså! :))

Til slutt spredte jeg noen perler rundt omkring og mamma får endelig sitt morsdagskort. *The tag was also an ordinary white manila tag that I inked all over with Distress Ink and splashed a few drops of water over it. A fun little trick I picked up from the king himself (Tim Holtz that is! :)) Finally I scattered a few pearls here and there and my mom can finally get her mothers day card.*

En deilig vinterdag

Etter uker med varmegrader, kuling, regn og ruskevær, laver snøen nå stille ned og det begynner å ligne jul ute. Så når jeg fikk meg en uventet fridag, passet det bra å pynte litt til jul i bloggen.

Jeg har også fått gjort ferdig noen tager i dag. Disse begynte jeg på i forrige uke da jeg hadde juleverksted med noen små og store hjelpere. Egentlig lagde jeg dem bare for å demonstrere teknikken jeg har fått dilla på, den samme teknikken som jeg har brukt på dette kortet og dette kortet, men jeg fant ut at jeg like gjerne kunne gjøre nytte av dem. Så jeg stemplet på oppskriften på en deilig vinterdag og brukte emboss-resist teknikken. Pyntet med litt bånd og en snømann-charm og sånn ble det:

After weeks of warm weather, wind, rain and really bad weather, the snow is now falling quietly and it's beginning to look like christmas outside. So when I got an unexpected day off from work I thought it would be good to decorate my blog for christmas.

I also got to finish some tags today. I started these when I had a few helpers over for a christmas workshop last week. I actually made them just to demonstrate the technique I'm sort of hooked on these days, the same technique I used on this card and this card, and so I thought I might as well make use of them. So I stamped on the recipe for a lovely winter day and used the emboss resist technique. Decorated with a few ribbons and a snowman charm, and this is how it turned out.
