DT Charisma - More than one fold

Finally I’m back online! Got a bit of Internet issues here, but it’s all sorted out now, I hope!
The days have just vanished as I’ve been busy prepping the family for school and everyday life after a summer that seemed to last forever. And now it’s Thursday again. Not just any ol’ Thursday, it’s my oldest daughters first day of 5th grade in a new school, so it’s been really exciting both for her and me. Mostly me, I think. *S*
But that’s not the only exciting thing today. It’s time for a brand new challenge over at Charisma Cardz Challenges! Take a look at our sponsors this week.
 PRIZE ONE -

Here's a lil about Krista!
My name is Krista Smith. I am the artist behind the Etsy shop, Saturated Canary Digis. I began working in the stamping world about a year ago when I was hired to create rubber designs for the sweet Scottish company, Sugar Nellie. They launched my artwork under the name 'Simply Sassy.' I moved into the digital world just this past month (it's been a super busy month, indeed!). And-- I love it!! There is a little more freedom here, as I can create anything that pops into my head:)! I am so humbled by the artistic talent of the girls coloring in my designs-- it is truly an inspiration! Likewise, I am so thankful for the friendships I've made in this wonderful and lovely crafty community! It's been a true delight! I'd love for you to stop by my challenge/inspiration blog, Saturated Canary Challenge and join in the fun...And, while you're there, click over to my personal blog (Saturated Canary) and introduce yourself! I am a bit eclectic and touch on everything from family (I've got me a great one!) to fashion (obsessed!)...Please say 'hi!'...I'd love to be friends!:)

Krista has very kindly offered to sponsor this week one winner with a $10 Gift Certificate to her wonderful Etsy shop of some very beautiful Digi's!

PRIZE TWO -
The Stamping Chef was born in November 2012, after I (Tamara) decided to switch from the scrapbook community to the crafter side of designing. Drawing is my passion, and my style is fun, cute and doodlish..I think =D.  I love to see images come to life when they're colored by amazing crafters. Creating digital images can be a tedious process, but I love each and every step of it. I have a lovely bunch of ladies standing next to me, creating, giving me advice, and help me everywhere they can. I'm so totally new in this great adventure, but I love it! It's so totally different than I'm used to. I hope I can provide you with loads of cute, happy, funny images you can work with.
winner 3 digital images of their choice from The Stamping Chef store http://thestampingchef.oo.gd/

PRIZE THREE-
Delicious Doodles is a young company with myself,
Teri, as the Sole Trader/Designer.
I have doodled and sketched all of my life.
I started making greetings cards when my last child was born, and used my doodles on them as I couldn’t find what I wanted in the usual craft places.
I only started selling my images in the Autumn of 2009.
I design and hand/mouse-draw all of the images that are sold in the Delicious Doodles Shop. Some are cutsie animals, some are sketched flowers, there are a few men's images, fairies and also some 'darker' images featuring vampires, skulls and Gothic stuff, something for everyone!
Why not pop over and take a look.

Who are offering 4 digis of the winners choice!

Now for the challenge, and I have to say that I’m really looking forward to this, as we’re doing more than one fold this week. It’s been far too long since I’ve done anything but a regular card, so I set out to find something new and exciting for me.
Marianne has some awesome creations on her blog, so I really just had to take a pick and landed on this fabulous gatefold-with-a-twist kinda creation.

The large tag with the image on keeps the card closed. Unfortunately she didn’t have any tutorial or links to templates, so I had to think twice before I understood how it was done. But it really wasn’t that hard. It’s made out from a 12x12” cardstock, scored at 3” on all sides. Get it? Let me know if you would like to see a tutorial on this, and I’ll see what I can do. ;-)

I really liked the look on this folded card, and I loved it even more when I got to combine it with some of my favorites at the moment, Maja Design papers and Saturated Canary digi stamps. The gorgeous paper are from the “Ska vi ta en Fika”collection. I'm purple passionate and I just love the colours on these papers, totally yummy! The Fika-collection is by no means new, but for some reason I never got around to buying them. But now, with my Maja-madness and purple passion I just had to have them and they came just last week. (And I do believe I need another refill pretty soon! *S*)

And the sweet Canary is called “Thank You”. Thanks to Krista for supplying the DT with these cuties! As always colored in with my ProMarkers.  Unfortunately I forgot to write down the colours this time. I think I used pretty much every purple/violet colour I own. *S* I’ve also used an edge stamp on this one. I’m not sure where it’s from.
Other materials I’ve used are: Flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and Kort og Godt, PaP-punches from Martha Stewart, ribbon and pearl from my stash, Distress Ink Walnut Stain and Fluid Chalk Creamy Brown.
Now, be sure to stop by the challenge blog for more inspiration and information and most importantly, link up your more-than- once-folded card. Can’t wait to see what you’ll do! *S*

*Sun and lovely weather seems to do something to the creativity, at least mine. This time I've made a birthday card for a relative.*

*I've hidden my Maja Design paper pads, but for my previous card I found scraps of the same papers that I used. Today I found a completely different Maja paper that just called to me and I couldn't resist the temptation! This paper is from the Life by the sea collection and I've used both front and back of the paper. The edges are distressed and inked with Fluid Chalk Creamy Brown. The dies (behind the panel and the flower) are a set from Marianne Design die cut in white Bazzill and inked with Distress Ink Vintage Photo. The chipboard numbers are painted with Crackle Paint Picket Fence and inked with Vintage Photo. And seambinding is almost as obvious as papers from Maja Design. I love ribbon in all shapes and colours but seambinding is a favorite since it's so versatile and easy to dye. I've inked the edges carefully with Distress Ink Vintage Photo and misted with water before scrunching it a little extra. Finally I applied a little gesso here and there, just for fun. Now it's about time to get ready for a birthdayparty. Have a fabulous weekend! :) *

Challenges:
As you like it #8 - Favourite ribbon (Seambinding, why is explained above. ;-) )

DT Charisma - Stitching

Another Thursday, another challenge over at Charisma Cardz Challenges. This time we're stitching it up. And as always we have some excellent prizes for you. Just check out our sponsors:

So what did I do for todays challenge? Well, it's been a lot of layers, colored images and distressing from me lately (or so it feels *S*), so I wanted to do something clean and simple. The only problem was that I couldn't think of anything to do that didn't include an image or lots and lots of stash (and work!). But then I discovered one of my first and greatest sources of inspiration was back after a long brake from cardmaking and I think I got a bit (con)fused. Here's what I came up with:

Not quite CAS, but not all the layers, image and stash from my previous projects either. I've already hidden my Maja Design Paper pads to force myself into using something else on my cards. So for this card I dove into my pile of scraps, and what did i find lying there just waiting to be used?  ... Maja scraps!! *lol*
And no Maja without distressing the edges. Slightly torn and inked with Fluid Chalk Creamy Brown. The panels are also machine sewn, since that's the challenge for today.
For the sentiment I got to get out my poor neglected Verve Stamps, from the stamp set Blessings and the Vintage Oval Frame stamp and die, also from Verve.
A seambinding bow from Wild Orchid Crafts and a big pearl to top it of, and that's it for today. Now it's your turn. Hop on over to the challenge blog to see what the other gals did and don't forget to link up your own creation. Looking forward to seeing your creations! ;-)

*The newborn twin boys could have been school boys before I got happy with this card, so it was about time to throw out the perfectionism and just get it done!*

(Se farger under.)
*This image from Mo's digital pencil is called Twins, as always colored with ProMarkers. (See colors below.) Around the edge I've inked with Distress Ink Faded Jeans and stamped with Inkido Stars in the same color. The names of the boys are rub-ons from AdornIt and the pearls from Storyteller.*

*I've used several different kinds of flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and berry head stamens I got in a package from a sweet scrapper a while back. Some of the smallest roses are inked with Distress Ink Faded Jeans and misted with Glimmer Mist Pearl. The sentiment is from a set from Norsk Stempelblad.*

*It's beginning to be quite common that the papers I've used are from Maja Design, this time from the Vintage Summer Basics collection, combined with Vanilla and kraft cardstock from Bazzill. All the panels are distressed and inked with Fluid Chalk Creamy Brown. And that was it, now I'll just have to mail it to the boys!*

Colors:
Skin: Coral, Sunkissed Pink, Blush, Ivory, Pastel Pink
Clothes: China Blue, Cornflower, Powder Blue, Pastel Blue

DT ProMarker Norge - Utfordring # 21

*The summer lasts even longer at ProMarker Norway and thats quite all right with me! :-) Best enjoy it while it lasts. There will soon enough be dark cold evenings that can be spent indoors. Where I live we're fortunately not spoilt with lovely summer weather all the time, so I didn't have too much trouble finding an opportunity to sit in my playroom and make this card for ProMarker Norway's summer challenge.*

*This cute image is from our sponsor Lacy Sunshine Stamps and is called Emily Spring Blossom Flowers. The colours I've used are listed below. Around the image I've inked in Distress Ink Shaded Lilac.*

*I've used papers from Maja Design Vintage Spring collection and I've distressed and inked all the edges with Fluid Chalk Creamy Brown. All the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The swirl underneath the flowers are die cut with a Magnolia die. The tickets are stamp and die from Rox Stamps, stamped in Archival Ink Coffee on kraft cardstock.*
