En juvel

Er det ikke herlig når du roter gjennom tingene dine og finner en juvel du hadde glemt at du hadde? Jeg gjorde det her om dagen og fant dette stempelsettet fra Kaisercraft som jeg kjøpte for ikke så lenge siden og hadde glemt at jeg hadde. Jeg vet hva dere tenker, hvordan er det mulig!? Vel, dere har ikke sett arbeidsbordet mitt, og dere vet hva de sier: Ute av syne, ute av sinn.

Så jeg tenkte det ville være perfekt å bruke til et CAS kort med Emboss resist-teknikken jeg nettopp har lært meg. Jeg trenger litt mer øvelse, men til å være første forsøk syns jeg det ble ganske bra.

Don't you just love it when you rummage through your stuff and find some gem you forgot you had? I did that the other day and found this stamp set from Kaisercraft that I forgot I had. I know what you're thinking, how could I forget!? Well, you haven't seen my workdesk, and you know what they say: Out of sight, out of mind.

So I thought this would be perfect for a CAS card using the emboss resist technique I just learned. I need some practice though, but for a first attempt I think it looks ok.

Gratulerer med morsdagen til alle mødre og spesielt til alle alenemødre der ute. Jeg er ikke en av dem, men jeg har en mann som i perioder reiser mye, og det har gitt meg en enorm respekt for aleneforeldre! Det er virkelig ingen enkel jobb å ta seg av barn helt på egenhånd, selv om man har verdens flinkeste og snilleste barn (som selvfølgelig alle foreldre har! ;)). Dere gjør en fantastisk jobb! Håper alle får den oppmerksomhet de fortjener i dag og nyter dagen!

Happy mother's day to all mothers and especially to all single mothers out there. I'm not one of them, but I have a husband that sometimes travels a lot, and that has given me an enourmous respect for single parents! It's really not an easy job to take care of kids all on your own, even though you have the sweetest, nicest kids in the world (which of course all parents have! ;)). You do a fantastic job! I hope you all get the attention you deserve today and enjoy the day!

Julestemningen kommer

Etter en helg med lett juleshopping var det godt å komme hjem igjen til hobbybordet og merke at julestemninga kommer sigende og produksjonen av julekort øker. Planen er å lage en del enkle kort for salg på julemesse kommende lørdag. Men jeg har en god del igjen å lage for å nå målet mitt. Dette kortet blir i alle fall mitt bidrag til PaperPlay Challenges '10 - Ribbon, lace and flowers, RRR Challenge #12 Christmas theme og A Spoonful of Sugar Challenge 130 - Distressing.

It was great coming home to my workdesk again after a weekend of light christmas shopping and noticing that the christmas spirit is sneaking in and the christmas card production is increasing. I've planned to make some simple cards to sell at the charity christmas market this Saturday. But I've got quite a few left to make to reach my goal. Anyways, this card will be my entry for PaperPlay Challenges '10 - Ribbon, lace and flowers, RRR Challenge #12 Christmas theme and A Spoonful of Sugar Challenge 130 - Distressing.

Det snør, det snør

Med masse deilig hvit snø ute, nye stempel fra Kort og Godt på bordet og en herlig skisse fra CardPatterns forrige uke kan man jo ikke la være å bli inspirert! Det er så utrolig gøy når man finner en så god skisse som man bare må bruke igjen og igjen. Julekortet i et tidligere innlegg var inspirert etter samme skisse. Dette kortet fikk en annen vri med masse snøkrystaller og glitter. Jeg lar dette bli mitt bidrag til utfordringen hos A Spoonful of Sugar - Let's get punchy.

With plenty of lovely white snow outside, new stamps from Kort og Godt on the desk and a fabulous sketch from CardPatterns last week one can't help but be inspired! It's so much fun when you find a sketch you just have to use again and again. The christmas card in a previous blog post was inspired by the same sketch. This card got another twist with heaps of snowflakes and glitter. I'll enter this for the challenge at A Spoonful of Sugar - Let's get punchy.
A translation of the sentiment for my foreign readers: "If a snowflake was a hug, I would give you a blizzard".

Winter wonderland

Joda, det er hvitt ute, så da er det på høy tid å begynne juleproduksjonen. Jeg har ikke gjentatt meg selv ofte når det gjelder å lage utradisjonelle kort, men med dette søte, lille telyskortet kan man jo ikke la være! Så raskt og enkelt å lage og så herlig det blir! Yes, it's white outside, so it's about time to start the christmas production. I haven't repeated myself too often when it comes to making untraditional cards, but with this cute little tea light card I can't help myself! So quick and easy to make and the result is lovely! Lilla er desidert min yndlingsfarge og dette herlige mønsterarket fra Papirdesign praktisk talt ropte til meg om å bli brukt når jeg skulle lage dette kortet! ☺
Tallene er chipboard som jeg har farget med ProMarker (Warm Grey 1), dekket med Glossy Accent og strødd med hvitt/blankt glitter. Et eksperiment som heldigvis ikke gikk helt galt! ☺

Purple is definately my favourite color and this gorgeous paper from Papirdesign practically begged me to be used for this card. The numbers are chipboard colored with ProMarker (Warm Grey 1), coated with Glossy Accent and sprinkled with white/clear glitter. An experiment that fortunately didn't turn out a total disaster! ☺

After a litte tour around Blogworld, I've realized that yesterday, October 2nd, was World Cardmaking day. That has to be celebrated, so I threw myself in there (a little late though! ;-)) and I got done with this card.

Mitt aller første bryllupskort! Og jeg må innrømme at det var virkelig vanskelig! Men bare fordi jeg hadde så utrolig mange valgmuligheter. Både i ark, pynt og utforming. Men dette er det jeg endte opp med og jeg håper brudeparet blir fornøyd.

My very first wedding card! And I have to admit it was really hard! But only because I had so unbelievably many options in both papers, embellishments and layout. But this is what I ended up with and I hope the happy couple will be satisfied. This will be my entry for challenge #8 at Nordsalten Hobbyklubb and challenge #107 at A Spoonfull of Sugar.
