Another day, another card

A quick and easy card for my father-in-law who's birthday is today. I've used kraft cardstock, Bazzill scraps, patterned paper of unknown origin, a piece of paper twine and my brand spankin' new Dymo. :)

I'm entering this for the following challenges:
Cards for men #17 - Anything goes
Trykkpressa August - Mannekort med stjerner
Kort-o-Mania - Mann - Gutt

Skolestart

Holidays are inevitably over for most of us and soon for the little ones too. It's back to the ol' school routine for a couple of little girls next week and a brand new routine for my youngest niece who is starting 1st grade. So I thought I'd surprise the girls with a little backpack each, which I'll fill with some school stuff. This is the first backpack (out of three) for the 1st-grader. Hopefully I'll finish the other two backpacks and contents this weekend so it'll be posted more piccies here soon. Until then, I'll enter this for the challenges
Allsorts Challenge 116 - Anything but a card and Scrap'a'long #7 - Anything goes.

I found the tutorial for the backpack here. I chose not to use too much embellishments since this is going in the mail. I've used Bazzill cardstock for the base, patterned paper from a magazine I bought, Tiny Alphas, brads, Hook'n'loop (velcro dots), eyelets and ribbon.

Almost unbelieveable

It can almost seem like I'm back in the game! At least I threw together this card after the sketch at Mojo Monday this week.
I've used papers and diecut from the KaiserCraft Utopia series. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I love KaiserCraft papers! :) I also got to use my new MS Cherish punch. My very first eBay buy, which I'm sensing is going to be a favourite.. if I can only figure out the principles about Punch-around-the-page. *lol*
And since Scrap-a-long is having an open challenge this time I'll throw myself in there too.

A little update and new discoveries

Summer holiday's almost over for me, and we're frantically painting house outside and inside, shoveling gravel for the basement floor and in general working as much as we possibly can with two little ones running around our feet and demanding attention. Needless to say there's not much time (or energy) left for cardmaking, blogging or any other FUN activities. But I'm stealing a moment while hubbie's getting ready for more painting just to inform you about my new discoveries. It's the CASE study Challenge Blog. OMG so much inspiration! Not only the challenge blog itself, but all the DT's blogs too! And right now they're hosting their 1st Anniversary Blog Hop.

CASE Study Anniversary Blog Hop

Be sure to make the rounds to the DT girls and I promise you an extraordinary experience! These ladies are crème de la crème and inspiration all the way! Enjoy the "ride", I know I will! And I hope to be back with some inspired creations soon!
